7 Zara Basics I Can't Wait To Purchase

As a shopaholic, I have bought way too many non-essential clothes in the last few years. This year, I want to build a capsule wardrobe, one that consists of mostly essential clothing that can be mixed and matched easily.

I went onto Zara.com to do some basic window shopping and these are the 7 basic casual tops that I am excited to slowly add to my closet:

1. RIBBED TOP

The shape of this ribbed top is such that it is flattering. It is a cropped tank top that accentuates the bosom and waist area. It goes well with jeans and high waisted skirts.

2. RIBBED T-SHIRT

In case you are going to a more formal event where skin should not be exposed, this is a good alternative to the ribbed top, it has a similar shape but is not cropped and covers up more shoulder.

3. STRAPPY CROP TOP

Continuing the sleeveless theme, this top is a dream come true. It is a simple top that really shows off your body. It may be too daring for some but if you are comfortable with your body, this is the basic crop top you are looking for.

4. V-NECK T-SHIRT

No closet is complete without a basic white tee. There are many variations of the white tee but I find that the v-neck to be my personal favourite, the v-neck elongates my neck. I also prefer boxy cuts as they are more casual in comparison to waist accentuating designs.

5. RIBBED HIGH NECK T-SHIRT

A high neck tee is a must as it is versatile, and is especially essential in hotter weathers. By throwing on a blazer, you look ready for a meeting, by wearing some mom jeans and throwing on a pair of sneakers you look ready for a chill outing with friends.

6. HIGH NECK T-SHIRT

Long sleeves may not be an essential to everyone in a hot, tropical country, but I adore it as it is a way to elevate a simple look into a chic look. A black turtleneck can easily be dressed up by throwing on some gold jewellery and a pair of heels.

7. BASIC LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRT

Last but not least, a basic long sleeved t-shirt in neutral tones is quintessential to a capsule wardrobe. Buy it in a light and breezy material to fit the hot summer weather and pair it with denim shorts or a long, flowy skirt for an everyday summer outfit.
